CONSULTANT GYNAECOLOGIST

Philip Toplis is a gynaecologist with sub-speciality expertise in incontinence and prolapse surgery, minimal access laparoscopy and hysteroscopy techniques for endometriosis and menorrhagia, and colposcopy. He qualified in 1973 and subsequently trained in general surgery and urology before further specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital for Women, Guy's and Charing Cross Hospitals London and the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford. He undertook his degree at Bristol University, became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1979, Member of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1980 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1993. Research interests and publications include colposcopy tchniques and surgery for female incontinence.

Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Toplis's practice encompasses all aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology with a particular interest in operative gynaecologcal techniques, minimising patient length of stay in hospital, pelvic floor reconstruction, outpatient hysteroscopy and colposcopy. Philip is a Clinical Director to the Trust, lead clinician for colposcopy, postgraduate speciality mentor, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists preceptor for hysteroscopic surgery and BSCCP - accredited colposcopy tutor. He is an examiner for the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricains and Gynaecologists and Final MB examinations University of Southampton.

Mr Toplis' private practise is based at Clare Park Hospital, Farnham and Parkside Suite Frimley Park Hospital private wing. Patients requiring surgery are admitted to Hospital Clare Park, Parkside private wing Frimley Park Hospital, the Woking Nuffield Hospital or the Hampshire Clinic Basingstoke.
